M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket, Pink (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation)
Review by Primadona : Good product, love the blue color. 3 Star

Amazon seems to take forever to ship this case compared to other cases.

This case is sturdy, it's made of some type of canvas material and has enough padding to protect the kindle. The inside is lined with some type of microfleece material so your screen wouldn't get scratched.

After having the kindle without a jacket, I've realized that i like reading it naked but after holding it up in this case, i could go either way. it's lightweight although you'll still notice a slight difference in weight when reading in this compared to holding the kindle by itself.

I like that it zips around to give complete protection from dust and other particulates that could slip in.

I folded the cover round the back easily and was able to zip it. however, you have to keep adjusting the zipper once you convert it back to the normal way. I still like that you can fold around and zip it because it allows me to hold the kindle with one hand and read.

The power cord and AC adaptor fit into the pouch in front without any issues and i was able to zip it without any problems. it does bulge but it bulges a little outward and none towards the inside where the kindle is at. I didn't like reading with the cord and AC adaptor in because i feel it adds a little amount of weight (it might not be noticeable to you). I think it's definately good for transporting those cords.

There's some type of pocket at the back where the m-edge illuminator light can fit. it has another slot underneath that. maybe you can slip a business card or a note card there or perhaps a car key.

Zipping is a tad tight around the corners but it's not a pain.

The only thing i have some issues with is that the fastener at the top left corner feels loose but then i've given my kindle the shaking test where i held it over my bed and shook it up and down once and it slid out of the top left corner. That fastener right there feels loose so i think i'll have to exchange it.

I got this because while i love to read my kindle naked, but there are times and places where i want to read it in a case and i don't want a cover that permanently attaches to the kindle. I wanted something versatile so i could go back and forth as i please. This case seems to fit the bill. If you need a strong and sturdy case for transporting your kindle, this is it. if you get one where you don't have a defective fastener at the top left corner, then you're in good shape. I believe one of the previous two reviewers had the same issue with his case. It may be a manufacturing defect, i don't know. Don't let that deter you from buying this. I'll update when amazon sends the replacement. Hopefully, the left corner for that one fits well.

Did i say the navy is a lovely blue color?!
    Peace.

Review by Jcas : A Great Product 5 Star

After not being able to get this product shipped to Aussie with Amazon , I purchased this jacket from the people at M-Edge where service was brilliant.

The cover feels so nice, not bulky at all.
I love the idea of being able to zip it up and put it in my handbag without getting it scratched.
The zips are excellent quality and move very freely.

It holds my K3 very securely, is made of excellent quality materials and is an overall superb product.
I have given it 5 stars as i just cannot find a negative about it.

Review by njmom223 : The Best Kindle Case Out There! 4 Star

I had this for my Nook and now I have it for my 2 Kindle's (3rd generation). The first one i got was perfect. The 2nd one (for my 2nd Kindle) had a problem securing the Kindle in the top left corner. M-Edge's brilliant customer service replaced it immediately and the new one is great. I think they should use the same fasteners at the top as they use on the bottom, not sure why they don't as they feel more secure, but it's still the best Kindle case out there. I love it and would 100% recommend it.

Review by S. Saunders : Excellent cover and case for my Kindle 5 Star

As soon as I found this cover available for preorder on amazon, I ordered it. It arrived yesterday and I'm delighted with it. I have the M-Edge Latitude cover for my Kindle 2, and was disappointed not to find it available when I ordered my Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation.

I bought a nice plum colored carrying case instead, and didn't regret it. That case protected my Kindle from being dirtied (or worse) by spilled food at a cookout. But that kind of case has a serious drawback for me. Because I have to remove the Kindle from it in order to read, I have two things to keep track of: the Kindle and the case.

Part of the genius of this M-Edge Latitude Kindle jacket, is that it stays attached to the Kindle at all times. I just flip it open to use the Kindle, then flip the front cover back into place and zip it closed when I'm done. There's nothing separate to slide off my lap while I'm reading, or to be placed somewhere else while the Kindle's in use. And then located again when I'm done. (If I'm reading at home, chances are I'll finish a Kindle session in a different room from where I started it, meaning I have to go fetch the case from wherever I was when I took the Kindle out of it.)

The newest generation Kindle is the first one (I've also owned the K1 and the K2) that I don't mind reading when it's not fastened into a cover. It's small and light enough, and the back is grippable enough, that I don't fear it slipping out of my grasp. After spending a few weeks reading my new Kindle that way, I wasn't sure how I'd like going back to using it in a jacket. But this jacket is lightweight and snug-fitting, and doesn't get in the way. I'm adjusting to it just fine.

The other very important aspect of this Kindle jacket, is the all-around protection it provides when closed. I can slip my Kindle, in this jacket, into a purse or tote bag with no fear that some stray object might slip into the case through an open edge, and damage the Kindle.

The K2 version of the M-Edge Latitude was a perfect solution for carrying and using my Kindle 2. I'm equally pleased with the new M-Edge Latitude for my third-generation Kindle.

Review by SMcC "S MAC" : Perfect Jacket!! 5 Star

I am really impressed so far. It took me forever to decide on the case for my Kindle 3. I was trying to find something that my Kindle would just slide into, but the ones available were not cutting it. I wasn't sure about the 4 corners holding it in place, but they do. I am happy I picked this case and read the reviews because it is way more than I expected. The biggest factor in my decision to buy this jacket is the fact that it zips completely around my Kindle 3.
    Pros:
    1. 2 zippers that allow me to zip up the jacket, but leave a small opening for charging. The bottom of the case may slightly block the bottom of the Kindle, but not too much. I just pushed down on the bottom cover to expose the buttons better. I think its because there is extra material around it to prevent the zipper from scratching the Kindle. But, I did not have to remove the Kindle to access the bottom buttons.
    2. Protection!! Zips & closes completely (nothing on the Kindle exposed), so no more dirt, dust, debris getting into my cover when I am carrying it in my purse or backpack.
    3. Four corner tabs hold the Kindle securely. I did shake it a bit to see if it would budge or fall out, but it didn't. (I did do this over the couch :)
    4. Slim case w/ good material and padding. It doesn't look bulky. The inside is lined w/ a very soft light gray fleece like material so I know it won't scratch my Kindle. The outside material feels sturdy and lets me get a good grip on my Kindle when reading.
    5. Back of case has an opening/slit in the material for the M-Edge light to slide into.
    6. Almost forgot, yes the front cover easily folds back for one hand reading. I did it w/ no problem w/ the M-Edge light in place on the back. I then checked the binding to see if it would create wrinkles/cracks in it, but it hasn't because of the material used and I don't see this being a problem later on.
    Cons:
    1. The only little thing I would say is that the front pocket w/ zipper should just go because it's really too small to put anything in it besides maybe paper (business cards, receipts, etc.) I did try and put the USB cord in it which it would fit, but it was tight and protruded. But, I didn't buy this case for the small pocket in the front, but those who may just take that into consideration. Like I said, it's not a deal breaker.

Review by J. Dixon : Not holding kindle 1 Star

I really like the cover and the size.

The spine seems a bit "poofy". I'm not sure why.

Also, the 4 point system is not very secure. The bottom two are fine. The top two seem to be barely holding the kindle.

I'm still undecided about returning it. It's the only one I found that was zippered and folded back.

Updated 10/16/2010 Now the upper left hand corner is not holding the kindle at all. My problem is, I'm leaving Monday and will be out of town for 3 weeks and that puts it out of the 30 day return window. It being late Saturday I can't send it back now.

I sent m-edge an email with no response. I like the idea of the case, just not happy with the quality of the one I received.

Review by P. Opanowitz : Exactly what I wanted!!! 5 Star

I was planning on getting my first kindle...and wanted the perfect cover. I'd seen the bulky leather ones and knew that they weren't what I wanted. I knew I wanted one that zipped up as I carry everything including the kitchen sink in my purse and didn't want foreign objects sliding into the cover and damaging my kindle. I also wanted lightweight...if it adds too much weight I won't want to carry it all the time. I had decided that I would have to buy a sleeve and wait for the perfect case to come out and this one showed up the day before I placed my order ( I asked for Amazon gift cards for my birthday). I got the red color...but had to review under this one as Amazon now says the red color isn't released. Not sure what's up with that but I sure am glad it was available when I ordered. The red is gorgeous!!! It's my signature color and I'm so happy to have found a RED color case that works exactly like I wanted. My kindle and the case arrived together yesterday and I couldn't be happier. My top left corner is ok...it's a bit looser by design I believe so you can get the kindle in but I shook it over my bed and all stayed in place. I just LOVE the case...You won't be disappointed in this one.

Review by N. Denning : Versatile protection and added functionality 5 Star

I didn't buy this item from Amazon, only because I wanted to handle the case in a store first before deciding on one. These cases for the new Kindles are pricey right now, so I didn't want to mess up and buy something that didn't suit my needs. I bought this at Best Buy; the cost was the same in the store as it is listed for on Amazon right now ($34.99).

What I like best: The versatility. If I want to, I could easily use this to just hold the Kindle without actually putting it in the mounting system and then remove it to use it. Inside the mounting system (which is just material across the four corners), it feels secure. In fact, I had a little trouble getting it in the mounting system, which is a good thing. I can choose to fold the cover completely back and even zip it closed if I want, to hold it open. However, one other thing on this cover is a small open pocket on the back of the case. I have been concerned about the lack of a handle on cases like this. So, this pocket functions as a handle because it holds my hand pretty tightly to give me a very firm grip on it. Also, with the case open, I use this pocket to hold the case sort of like a regular book. The difference is that regular books don't have this nifty pocket on the book (oh, and they're heavier of course). I've uploaded pics of this to help show this.

The only possible thing I see lacking in this case is that it is softer, so it of course does not provide the absolute most protection for the Kindle. The harder cases would possibly do that better. However, it does zip up completely, so it protects better than the more open cases. I don't see this as a bad thing because the trade-off is a very light-weight case that actually gets out of the way of enjoying the device but protects it and provides some added functionality. In my opinion, that's a trade-off that's well worth it.

I just bought this today (Dec. 27, 2010), so I can't speak to the durability of the case. If I find any problems with that, I'll update my review.

Review by Liz : This is THE one! 5 Star

I read so many reviews and comments on all the cases for the Kindle 3 that I felt I should just go into a store and FEEL one in my hand. I went to Staples and Best Buy and was able to examine the most popular cases here on Amazon.

I felt the M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket had the LIGHTEST feel, yet was sturdy enough to protect my Kindle should I drop it.

There are no fasteners that might damage the Kindle, just four corner diagonal strips of material that it slips into and that hold it well.

The zipper on the case is SMOOTH and easy. I can hold the case open like a book or fold it back behind the Kindle. When folded back, you can still zip it closed. I didn't believe that when I read other reviews, but it's true. This makes is very easy to hold. It won't slip out of your hands.

The zipper has two pull tabs so you can leave an opening in the middle or on the top or bottom. Therefore, you can plug the usb/charger in while you're using the Kindle and the on/off/sleep button is easy to access as well.

There is a small pocket for the light made for this to slip into. The light uses on AAA battery and so does not drain the Kindle at all. There is another slip-in pocket next to the light pocket for papers, business cards, whatever. Another pocket on the front of the case has a zipper closure.

This case is functional, light and nice looking. It felt the best, the most comfortable in my hands and it closes completely to really protect your Kindle.

YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS CASE!

Review by Adrienne Lawrence "Kindle Lover" : This is the best cover. 1 Star

I have the 2nd Generation Kindle and purchased two different types of Latitude covers for it and both were M-Edge products. I was very pleased with each, however, the Kindle cover I purchased for the latest generation Kindle is not at all what I expected and was used to. I was very disappointed. This cover was the purple colored one. I read the reviews before purchasing and thought the cover couldn't be as bad as some of the reviews I read, but was I wrong. The quality of the material even though it looked the same was not as nice and looked much cheaper. The petroleum smell was awful and I hated it. After much thought and deliberation I called Amazon and they agreed to send me another. That too had the same smell so they agreed to let me return both the original and replacement to them. I orginally had a black and red version of this same cover for my 2nd Generation Kindle and the material was beautiful and was perfect. DON'T PURCHASE THE MODEL purple or pink model. Thie materal is different than the red/black and black. Sorry M-Edge you blew it with the purple and pink covers, however, your a winner for the red/black and black covers. Must also add the service I received from Amazon was terrific and give them high praise for it.
