The Asus T101MT-BU37-BK did not last long. I had to send it back to ASUS for repair. The screen stopped responding across the bottom left from the start orb to the Clock area. I suspected a bad screen. I called the toll free number for ASUS EEEPC support number and they gave me an RMA number and informed me that I had to pay the shipping to the repair center in Newark CA. I sent it to them and there is a web site to track the repair although there is not any detail in the repair resolution. The repair did send an email to inform me they are shipping it back this week. I expect to get the unit sometime next week. I found out that there is 1GB of memory on the motherboard and the T101MT only takes 1GB of memory in the slot in the back of the EEEPC. I found this out after purchasing a 2GB DDR2 SODIMM module. For some reason ASUS did not opt to design the board and net book with the memory designed for the ATOM CPU. Intel States the ATOM CPU supports DDR3 memory. The ATOM CPU is a Dual Core CPU I do not think it has hyper threading as the Task Manager only shows two cores the same as a Core 2 CPU. Well due to the short time I got to use this EEEPC I do like it but Windows 7 Starter edition and the capability of this net book I would prefer Windows 7 Professional. I plan to use the Windows anytime upgrade to have Windows 7 Professional a cost of $119.99. The screen stopped working in the area I mentioned earlier so I did not get to use the net book for more than a week. I wish ASUS permitted the addition of a larger hard drive without voiding the warranty. With larger hard drives being sold on the market ASUS should permit the user to change the hard drive for an SSD or install a larger hard drive without penalty of voiding their warranty. As I read on the Internet changing the hard drive is not easy to open the unit and the disassembly is difficult. I suggest ASUS discontinue this practice with the hard drive. Hard drives fail in time replacement is almost routine maintenance for all computers..

Jag fick denna modell som ersättning för min ständigt sjuka HP tx1000.
Efter månader av använder jag måste säga att jag är imponerad ... Det här är inte din genomsnittliga netbook.

Första saker ...
1. Uppgradering från Win7 Starter (jag installerade professionella)
2. Uppgradera RAM till 2 GB.

Det är nog hjälpt jag har inte överbelastas med uppsvälld program ... Bara det bästa viktiga program och Office 2010 Professional. Netflix och SlingPlayer springa bra.

Pekskärmen är lyhörd och bra för att surfa ... Den dubbla kärnor gör en större skillnad än jag väntat.

Bara så att du kan förstå min jämförelse med en ursprungliga netbook, jag har en Asus EeePC 1000H ... Dessutom uppgraderas till 2 GB RAM och det hänger sig när jag laddar mer än 3 flikar. Inga problem med denna modell.

Denna modell är kompakt och känns robust. Den svängbara gångjärn inte är av dålig kvalitet. Batteriets livslängd vid hög prestanda ger mig 4 till 5 timmar.

My only criticism is that it lacks some features of my hp like Bluetooth and fingerprint reader and full media capabilities (but my tx1000 couldn't handle hd video well anyway).

All in all I am impressed... It's a free replacement and great little cto netbook..

This is the settlement PC for HP Tablets with nVidia chips. Comparable T101MT models seem to have a variety of single processor chips, whereas this one has a dual processor. The tablet function is quite good!

I also received this netbook as part of the Nvidea legal settlement. It is a poor replacement for the HP Tablet notebook it is replacing, but it is better than nothing. The notebook it is replacing was completely dead.

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from the "Starter" version supplied with the unit. Why ASUS ships it with the "Starter" version is hard to understand. The touch scrreen requires the upgrade to be fully functional.

I also upgraded it to 2 GB of RAM. It is interesting to note that the available slot for a RAM upgrade is empty from the factory. There is 1 GB of RAM installed internally. this is not discussed in the available documentation. I contacted ASUS technical support to determine the correct parts to do the upgrade since it is not addressed in the available documentation. The response that I received said to use a 2 GB module installed in the available slot. They also provided the specs for the type of RAM to use. I purchased that part and installed it. At first it appeared to be working as the netbook was now reporting 2 GB of RAM installed. However, there was a problem with powering the unit on. About 50% of the time it would not start. I removed the module that I installed and the problem disappeared, reinstalled it and the problem reoccured. I contacted the RAM manufacturer as I thought the module may have been bad. After holding an email dialog with Crucial, they felt that I had the wrong module installed. Per Crucial it should just be a 1 GB module to supplement the internal 1GB of RAM. A new 1 GB module was purchased from Crucial and installed. It works perfectly and I have had no power on problems. The information provided by ASUS was incorrect. Anyone else performing this update should go to the Crucial website and us their available tools to determine the required module. I am waiting to see if ASUS will take responsibility for me purchasing the wrong module and refund the cost of it..
